IP Rating Explained: How to Pick a Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker
Date:2026/10/09 09:17:33 Publisher:

When shopping for waterproof Bluetooth speakers, you will see IPX4, IPX5, IPX7 and IP67 labels. These IP codes tell you how well the speaker resists water and dust.

IPX4 can resist splashes from any direction, suitable for bathroom and light rain. IPX5 handles heavy splashes. IPX7 means the speaker can be submerged in 1-meter water for up to 30 minutes, great for poolside. IP67 offers full dust-proof plus temporary underwater protection.

Remember: waterproof does not mean permanently water-proof. Avoid leaving speakers in salt water or hot water for long periods. Check the IP rating before you take it to the pool or beach.
